Great extensions are an investment, and how you care for them at home decides how long they look beautiful and how healthy your own hair stays. As a Babe Certified salon, we send every client home with a routine, and here is the short version.
Brush and protect every day
Use a loop or extension-safe brush and work from the ends up, supporting the attachment points so you are not tugging the bonds or wefts. At night, loosely braid or tie your hair and use a silk pillowcase so nothing mats while you sleep.
Wash gently, with the right products
Use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner, keep conditioner off the attachment points, and never scrub at the roots. Let hair dry most of the way before bed, since sleeping on soaking wet extensions leads to tangling.
Keep your maintenance appointments
As your natural hair grows, tape-ins, bonds, micro-links and hand-tied wefts all need to be moved up on a schedule. Skipping maintenance is the number one cause of tangling and stress on your own hair. We set your timeline at the install.
Style smart
You can use hot tools, just keep a heat protectant on and the heat off the bonds or tape, and choose looser updos that do not pull at the attachment points. See our Babe hair extensions service.

How do I wash hair with extensions?
Gently. Use sulfate-free products, support the wefts or bonds while washing, and keep conditioner off the attachment points. We show every client the routine at the install.
How often do extensions need maintenance?
Most methods need a maintenance appointment every few weeks to move them up as your hair grows. We set your schedule at the install.
Can I use heat tools on extensions?
Yes, with a heat protectant and moderate heat. Keep direct heat off bonds and tape, and brush with a loop or extension-safe brush.
